The touchscreen or touch screen is the assembly of both input ('touch panel') and output ('display') devices. The touch panel is normally layered on the top of an electronic visual display of a processing system.

According to sensing the touch of touchscreen technologies, they have Resistive touchscreen and capacitive touchscreen.

A resistive touchscreen panel comprises several thin layers, the most important of which are two transparent electrically resistive layers facing each other with a thin gap between them. A capacitive touchscreen panel consists of an insulator, such as glass, which is coated with a transparent conductor, such as indium tin oxide (ITO).
